Your Best Defense
 Your best defense in keeping your computer running smoothly is to:
  • Keep it up to date using Windows Update.
  • Keep up to date Anti Virus and Anti Spyware programs running on yourcomputer at all times.
  • An expired or corrupt antivirus program does no good protecting your pc.
  • Some of the Security Suites or Security Bundles out there are too complicated for the average user.
  • Look for some of the FREE unbundled programs on the internet, such as AVG as an antivirus program, Spybot (Search and Destroy) or Adaware for spyware and other "badware".
  • Stay away from the pop up ads on websites offering an offer too good to be true.
  • Stay away from the Free music download sites. (Some of the files are indeed infected).
  • Most of all if you add your email address to a website which offers something for absolutely nothing and makes all sorts of promises of free gifts, expect to get a ton of unwanted email each and everytime you check your mail.
